It had been a while since our last visit to New Brighton so we headed over on a Sunday morning. After a short walk it was time for breakfast at the Driftwood Cafe which was highly rated on Trip Advisor. Nice location and the food was great.

After a windy walk along the beach at New Brighton we needed coffee. We headed for the Sea Shanty coffee shop. Since we had breakfast earlier we decided to forgo the cake and just have coffee. A great space with outdoor seating for those warmer days. It will be added to the list for a return visit.
Heading home after a couple of days away we decided to stop in Lancaster. After a quick search we popped into Holm Coffee. An intimate location but a nice outdoor space for when the weather is a little warmer.
A friendly welcome was accompanied by well made coffee and great treats. The chocolate brownie was good but the Lemon and Raspberry Jam Sandwich was excellent.
Definitely worth checking out if you are visiting Lancaster.
We headed to Strawberry Moon on the Wirral for breakfast. Then it was off to Thurstaston Beach for a morning walk along the beach.
I had an afternoon off and we decided to head over to Michelle’s Cheesecakes in Thornton. After a latte and bagel we settled in for a little browsing and catch up, then it was time for a treat. We both decided to go with a cheesecake. Mint Aero for me and Lemon for her. Simply amazing.
It was a rainy, windy day when we headed to Hugo’s Cafe Bar in Burscough. It had been a few months since our last visit and thankfully was not too busy. We settled into a corner seat and order our usual lattes. We decided to go with their excellent scrambled Eggs with a side of sausage. The food was well cooked and extremely filling. After taking some time to enjoy the last of our coffees we headed out on the canal for a walk before the rains returned.
The weather wasn’t great but it was time for a walk after a morning at work. After a couple of miles I popped into Michelle’s Cheesecakes in Thornton. Unfortunately it had been a busy day and the cake selection was limited. I decided to go with a Millionaire Bar and a latte. The bar was very tasty and bodes well for future visits when hopefully there will be more of a treat selection.
After a wet morning in Fleetwood and a ride on the Blackpool tram it was time move on. We headed for Lytham St Annes and after a quick walk found No Filter. It had great reviews and it did not disappoint. Both the Latte and Hot Chocolate were excellent and the cakes were tasty. We would not hesitate to return to taste test more items on the menu.
A Saturday afternoon meet up at Riva Lounge in Formby. Good latte and food to go with the good company. All in all, a very pleasant time.
A day of exploring in Lancaster included a couple of visits to Brew at each end of the day. Breakfast in the morning and cake in the afternoon. Both visits were very enjoyable.
