It had been a while since our last visit to New Brighton so we headed over on a Sunday morning. After a short walk it was time for breakfast at the Driftwood Cafe which was highly rated on Trip Advisor. Nice location and the food was great.

After a windy walk along the beach at New Brighton we needed coffee. We headed for the Sea Shanty coffee shop. Since we had breakfast earlier we decided to forgo the cake and just have coffee. A great space with outdoor seating for those warmer days. It will be added to the list for a return visit.
Heading home after a couple of days away we decided to stop in Lancaster. After a quick search we popped into Holm Coffee. An intimate location but a nice outdoor space for when the weather is a little warmer.
A friendly welcome was accompanied by well made coffee and great treats. The chocolate brownie was good but the Lemon and Raspberry Jam Sandwich was excellent.
Definitely worth checking out if you are visiting Lancaster.
We headed to Strawberry Moon on the Wirral for breakfast. Then it was off to Thurstaston Beach for a morning walk along the beach.
My day off turned out to be wet and windy so looking for something to do, we decided to head to the movies. Wanting to really up our experience we headed into Liverpool to the Everyman Cinema. We decided to make a day of it, our first visit and stayed for a double feature.
When you arrive the bar area sets a tone for the experience. There are comfy chairs intimately placed, along with sofas and tables — giving the feel of a relaxed neighbourhood coffeehouse or bar. Our screen appears to be the largest as the others when we peaked were a bit smaller.
The seats were excellent. And we liked the idea that they had both 2-seaters and 3-seaters. There’s was also a place to set drinks or slightly elevate and rest your feet. The delivery of food during the break was an added bonus. The menu is not extensive but a nice selection of options from nibbles to a meal. There is also an extensive drinks and cocktails menu.
We were fortunate to have the row to ourselves as only a few folks were there, so lots of room to relax. Overall a great day in the city and highly recommended.
