It was a rainy, windy day when we headed to Hugo’s Cafe Bar in Burscough. It had been a few months since our last visit and thankfully was not too busy. We settled into a corner seat and order our usual lattes. We decided to go with their excellent scrambled Eggs with a side of sausage. The food was well cooked and extremely filling. After taking some time to enjoy the last of our coffees we headed out on the canal for a walk before the rains returned.
We prefer independent coffee shops, yet if we are going to use a chain then it will probable be a Starbucks. After a little shopping we ended up at the Starbucks Edge Lane West which happened to be it’s opening day. We had 2 nicely made latte’s and a snack. They had friendly staff and it is a nice location. Lots of space to distance – check them out but maybe after Christmas. There are a number of stores around and the traffic was crazy.
I was asked to download an app to order – which I hate – but thankfully they will take an order at the counter. Went with a latte, which was good and a chocolate brownie, which was amazing. The food coming out to other customers looked good but had no chance to verify. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was relaxing.
I would recommend a visit if you are in the area.
Friendly staff, a well made, good tasting coffee and you can’t beat a seat to watch the world from. The cakes looked amazing but I didn’t have a chance to try them.
