According to IntoMobile Apple has finally signed a deal to bring the new iPhone 3G to China. The possible deal is with China Unicom.
Apple has been in talks with Chinese mobile providers in the past but was unable to conclude a deal with them possible due to the revenue sharing model that they were using at that time. Now that they are following the more traditional subsidy model the time may have come for them to break into one of the world largest cellphone markets.
China Unicom was founded as a state owned corporation in July 1994 and as of April 2008, the company had 125 million GSM subscribers.
